David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence

David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium is the home of Kansas Jayhawks football, located on the campus of the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. One of the oldest college football stadiums in the country, it is undergoing a major transformation as part of the Gateway District redevelopment project.

Overview

Kansas Memorial Stadium opened in 1921, dedicated to the 125 University of Kansas students who died in World War I. The stadium has been renovated and expanded several times over the decades. In recent years, the University of Kansas has committed to a major transformation called the Gateway District, a multi-phase project that will significantly upgrade the stadium and surrounding facilities. Phase I of the Gateway District opened in August 2025. Oak View Group took over stadium operations and food services in 2024, replacing Sodexo Live!.
