Leaving MetLife Stadium: Train, Bus, or Rideshare?

October 31, 2026

The best time to choose your route home from MetLife Stadium is before you enter. Your destination matters as much as your arrival method: a direct bus to Manhattan, a train connection at Secaucus, and a rideshare pickup use different departure points.

For the outward trip, use MetLife Stadium from Manhattan. This guide helps you decide where to head after the final whistle or encore.

Choose your departure point

Route Where to go Check before the event
Meadowlands train Exit through the MetLife or Verizon gates for the station Whether service runs for your event and your onward connection at Secaucus
351 Meadowlands Express Lot K, near the Quest Diagnostics Performance Center, via the MetLife Gate Your event’s return service and last departure
Rideshare Lot E, off West Peripheral Road, outside the Verizon Gate The pickup pin and the row your driver confirms

Train: plan the connection as well as the shuttle

The Meadowlands train connects with Secaucus Junction. MetLife describes the shuttle ride as approximately ten minutes, but that is time on the train, not a promise about the queue or your whole trip home. The venue describes event rail service continuing for a couple of hours after qualifying events; use the actual event timetable to choose a departure.

Open NJ Transit’s Meadowlands service page before travelling. Check the event advisory, ticket instructions, and the connection from Secaucus to your final destination. If staff issue a wristband, keep it on for the return journey. The Giants’ current Know Before You Go page says wristbands are required in both directions; instructions can differ by event.

Save the relevant timetable and make sure everyone in your group knows the final destination. A working stadium shuttle alone does not establish that your onward train is available.

Bus: check the return window

MetLife publishes approximately one hour of postgame operation for the 351 bus. That makes a long stop for photographs or merchandise a decision to weigh against your departure time. Check 351 Express for your specific date, particularly for concerts; the stadium’s general game-day window is not a concert timetable.

Rideshare: agree on the pickup row

Use the designated Lot E zone and the instructions in your app. MetLife warns that post-event demand can produce surge prices and waits exceeding an hour. Keep enough phone battery to communicate with the driver and verify the car before boarding.

A departure plan you can save

Before entering, write down your chosen route, its boarding point, the last useful departure, and a backup you have checked for that date. Pick a meeting point for your group. If you need a step-free journey, also check station accessibility and current elevator notices with the transport operator.

There is no single dependable stadium-to-hotel travel time here. Build your plan around the event advisory and the connection you need, rather than treating a short ride on a map as the whole journey.
