Mercedes-Benz Stadium sits between two MARTA stations, and the stadium tells fans to use the train. There is no general-public game shuttle that replaces it. The last part of the trip is a short walk from the station to a specific gate, and the walk back is the part people underestimate when one exit is jammed.
This guide pairs with MetLife Stadium from Manhattan. The venues work differently: Atlanta has a regular rail line beside the building, and MetLife has an event-only shuttle that does not run all the way to Manhattan.
The fare and the transfer
The stadium’s parking and transportation page says a one-way MARTA ride is $2.50. It also says the old Breeze card, old tickets and the Breeze Mobile 2.0 app do not work. Payment is tap-to-pay with a bank card or mobile wallet at the fare gate or bus validator. A single fare includes transfers, which matters because many trips change trains at Five Points.
From the airport, the rail station is at the north end of the domestic terminal, near baggage claim. From the north-south Red or Gold lines, change at Five Points to a westbound Blue or Green train. Vine City is one stop west of the SEC District station. Coming from the west on Blue or Green, you may not need Five Points at all.

Which station, then which gate
The stadium calls SEC District (the station formerly known as GWCC/CNN Center) the preferred stop, at the doorstep of the building, for both arrival and departure. It is the closer walk to Gates 2, 3 and 4, beside State Farm Arena.
Vine City is the Gate 1 side. Leave the station and use the pedestrian bridge over Northside Drive. The stadium map places that bridge near Gate 1, The Home Depot Backyard and the west parking lots. If you are checking a stroller, Guest Services at section 116 is inside, not at the station. The children’s rules are in Taking kids to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Accessible arrival
The accessibility page lists accessible paths at Gates 1 and 2, the Silver Deck bridge, the North Suite and the North Club. Elevators sit near Gate 1, Gate 2, Gate 4 and the North Suite. Priority is the guest with a disability and one companion.
The accessible pick-up and drop-off zone is on Northside Drive, between the pedestrian bridge and The Home Depot Backyard entrance, closest to Gate 1. Blue Lot and Yellow Lot run a complimentary ADA shuttle to Vine City station, and on to the stadium, for most major events. That shuttle starts at those parking lots. It is not a citywide bus.

Leaving after the event
SEC District is still the stadium’s preferred departure station. When the Gate 1 walk is backed up, the transportation page says the faster rail exit is Vine City on the Blue/Green line. Riders who need the Red or Gold line change again at Five Points. Trains keep running on the regular MARTA schedule rather than a postgame-only timetable, so the last train is MARTA’s last train, not an event announcement. Check that time if the event runs late.
Guests leaving Gate 1 toward the north can also follow signs to the GWCC bus lane on Northside Drive. The stadium describes that walk as about 10 minutes and says Vine City is the fallback when the wait there is long.
Rideshare for major events uses a separate zone. After the event, Gate 1 riders are directed along Northside Drive toward Georgia World Congress Center Building C. That queue is not the MARTA entrance. The stadium’s own advice for skipping downtown driving is the $2.50 train.
Food on the way out is the same concourse you entered through. ATL Fan Fare sections are listed in the food guide by section. Nothing in the transit pages changes the outside-food rule: one sealed 16.9 oz water, with the child-snack exception published separately.
