Stanford University is hiring a full-time Lead Athletics Groundskeeper to support Stanford Stadium, the football practice field, and other athletics facilities. The position is part of the sports-turf team and is represented by SEIU Local 2007.
What the job includes
- Leading preparation of Foster Field at Stanford Stadium for football, soccer, and other events.
- Watering, topdressing, verti-cutting, aerating, painting, and applying granular or foliar treatments.
- Cleaning and repairing the field after games.
- Operating and maintaining grounds and irrigation equipment.
- Setting up and removing grow covers and rain tarps.
- Maintaining records and helping keep the grounds shop organized.
Stanford requires at least two years of grounds experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Turfgrass, soil-science, agronomy, professional-sports, and college-grounds experience are preferred. A valid California Class C driver’s license is required.
